Statement of Faith

We believe that the Holy bible, both Old and New Testaments as originally written, is the verbally inspired Word of God, and that it is our safe and sure guide for both creed and conduct (II Peter 1:19-21; II Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe that there is one living and true God, in the form of the trinity; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; I Timothy 3:16).

We believe in the miraculous conception, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, physical resurrection, and high priestly ministry of Christ (Luke 1:26-38; II Corinthians 5:21; I Corinthians 15:1-6; Hebrews 54:14-16).

We believe in the pre-millennial and pre-tribulation return of Christ (Revelation 4:1; 19:11-16; 20:5-6; I Thessalonians 5:1-9; II Thessalonians 2:1-12).

We believe that man was created by the direct act of God, upright and innocent, that through disobedience man fell into sin and is totally depraved in the sight of God, and that he must be "born again" by the Spirit of God and the Word of God (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12; John 3:3-7).

We believe that the great gospel blessing which Christ secures to us who believe is justification. This means that the believing sinner is declared righteous on the ground of Christ's full atonement (Romans 4:5; 5:1).

We believe that when a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and receives Him as Savior, he is at once baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ and he is forever kept by the power of God (I Corinthians 12:13; John 5:24; 10:28).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Head of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23). We believe that this church began at Pentecost and will be consummated at the rapture (Acts 2; I Thessalonians 4:13-18); that all believers are equally priests unto God (Revelation 3:6); that ordination, while it recognizes position, bestows no power; and that the local church is independent and sovereign.

We believe in the local, New Testament church (I Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:2; Revelation 1:20). It is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by a covenant of faith and the fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of water baptism and the Lord's supper (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42; I Corinthians 11:26) and preaching the Word of God at home and abroad Acts 1:8).

We believe in heaven as the final abode of the saved (John 14:1-6; Philippians 3:20-21).

We believe in hell as the final abode of the lost throughout eternity (Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:11-15).

We believe in the person of Satan or the Devil. He is the unholy god of this age and destined to the lake of fire (Matthew 4:1-11; Revelation 20:11; II Corinthians 4:4).

We believe in the account of creation as found in God's Word, and that evolution is false (Genesis 1 and 2; Colossians 1:16-17; John 1:3).

We believe in the separation of Church and State, and for the largest measure of support for civil and religious liberty (Colossians 1:16; Luke 20:25; Acts 4:19).
